Today I will explain how to install Google Earth on Ubuntu 8.10. There are four easy steps. The first thing we do is download the binary here google.
Once downloaded, open a console and give it execute permission:
As stated in the screenshot. Then, execute Mode: UbuntuWorkStation angel @: ~ / Desktop $. / GoogleEarthLinux.bin
and see something like this:
select routes and options and begin the installation. Appear something like:
have to wait, when finished we will see this:
And that's the signal that all is finished, we can enjoy google earth in ubuntu . Easy, no?
Edit: There seems to be some problems with version 5.0 for linux. Soon after starting the program stops. To fix this, you can do:
: ~ $ cd google-earth /
: ~ / google-earth $ mv libcrypto.so.0.9.8 libcrypto.so.0.9.8.old
: ~ / google-earth $ ln-s usr / lib / libcrypto.so libcrypto.so.0.9.8
